Verso Saturday brunch is back and it’s great! We started at the antipasti table, heaving with beautiful foccacia, meats, fresh seafood, vegetables (our favourite was the sweet potato) and of course fresh mozzarella. We had to be very careful to pace ourselves!
The main courses are brought to your table and included some wonderful options, of which you could have as much as you liked. The veal short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and I enjoyed probably the best rack of lamb I’ve had in a long time. There were options for seafood lovers: an absolutely glorious fusilli with mussels and a whole, exquisite sea bass, expertly served. For those who like Gorgonzola cheese, the penne was aromatic and moreish but the highlight was saffron risotto served from a huge cheese wheel with a citrusy osso bucco and polenta. Divine!
It was the desserts that really moved this brunch up a notch: the gelato was excellent and the strawberry tart even better. Unexpectedly, the poached pear was our absolute favourite and a perfect way to enjoy something sweet.
We lingered over the beautiful cheese selection and finished with a fabulous espresso.
