(All of those are on a five star scale. I get carried away with my ratings sometimes.)
I was the lucky winner of the Valentine's at the Park contest. My wife and I didn't really have plans for Valentine's Day, so this gave us an excuse to get dolled up and go out. And boy was it worth it!
We arrived for our reservation and had a pre dinner drink at the bar upstairs. From the moment we gave our name, it was like everyone already knew us. They didn't have to cross reference the reservations, they knew who we were. Very welcoming.
After our pre dinner drinks, which were delicious, we headed downstairs for our meal.
We both recently started the Keto diet, so we weren't supposed to have carbs, but I sacrificed a bit for the sake of Best Bites. The bread was amazing. It had a great taste, great crunchy top, and an overall great appearance. Some might say it was as Fresh as the Prince of Bel Air. Ok, maybe I'm the only one that would say that, but whatever. Don't judge.
First course was scallops. As this was a 4-course meal, there was a lot of food to be had, so the scallops were one each. They had a lot of flavor and the appearance was excellent. My wife also loved the cauliflower on the plate.
Next was the lobster. Wow! Great sized portion and insane flavor. So buttery so perfect. Extremely pleased. Beetroot on the side tasted good too, and it was my first time trying it.
Next was the escalope. Cutting through it with a fork was like cutting through jello. It just went right through. So deliciously tender. Had a Hawaiian barbecue flavor(according to the wife), but all around had a great taste that sat in your mouth and kept you happy.
Finally the "main" attraction. Steak! Wagyu Beef Tenderloin. Is there a better cut? I doubt it. At least not the way the chefs at The Park Hyatt prepare it. My wife and I both ordered Medium Rare. Hers was a bit thicker so she had a more rareish portion, whereas mine was on the medium side of medium rare. Both were still excellent. You could have used a spoon to cut through the meat. So tender. Great flavor. Yummy!
Finally out came desert. We meant to have a couple bites to try it and review, but oops! We ate it all... 🙈Red velvet accents on chocolate and white chocolate dish. Not overly sweet. So good. Giant white chocolate heart. Everything was perfect.
All in all, we had an excellent night. The staff was friendly, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was great for Valentine's Day. We will definitely return in the future to try out more dishes from the amazing chefs at the Park Hyatt!!!
