URBAN KITCHEN, Dusit Thani Friday Brunch ‘Wok With Me’ Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The last time we went here for brunch was 3 years ago. We said we’d never go back. Until now, that is. They’ve had a complete overhaul - and, ladies and gentlemen, this is a brunch that’s well and truly back in the game!
It’s as if they’ve visited every brunch in town, picked all the best bits, and created their own little brunch microcosm in a very convenient uptown location, halfway to everywhere. Oysters (French) ✔️ Caviar ✔️ Foie ✔️Seafood ✔️ Sushi ✔️ Cheese ✔️ Nice desserts ✔️ Thai curry ✔️ Basically all the brunch favourites, plus (and I know for many of you, this’ll be the clincher), Bombay Sapphire and ANY FEVERTREE TONIC YOU LIKE. Everything we ate was excellent. The live stations were a treat, with lobster banh mi, Thai curry and pani puri. I was a bit apprehensive about the adult drinks, which offered only one choice for each type of drink, but all were pretty drinkable.
They’ve put a lot of thought into the customer journey, from initial booking through to the lovely welcome G&T in the bar, with a live pianist, then being shown to the table - felt very special and all ran like clockwork.
Once you’re sat down at the table though, the service fluctuates between over-attentive and not attentive enough, but was always kind, and so we didn’t mind too much. However it’s probably one area that may need a little more work to create the high-end experience I think they’re aiming for.
The pricing is extremely competitive, at 230 net for soft drinks (which includes a complimentary glass of hop or grape) and an additional 100 net for the full drinks package. Kids 7-14 are 85 net, and there’s a small area for younger children with a TV. We had a 50% off offer from the hotel which is valid until 31st Oct.
I don’t think we’ll be leaving it quite so long next time before we go back 😉
