Level 1 of The ONE furniture shop in Al Bateen.
I'm not sure if The ONE' restaurant has been reviewed yet, but we checked it out over the weekend and I thought I'd share my experience.
The restaurant is located on level 1 of The ONE furniture shop in Al Bateen. The ambience is lovely, reminiscent of a cosy luxurious house, dramatic and sombre. The chairs are plush and the sunlight streaming through the windows just make you want to grab a hot cup of tea and something warm to eat.
Now on to the food. The breakfast menu looked enticing but we decided to eat brunch instead. The place accepted entertainer vouchers so that was a plus point. I ordered the gluten-free pasta. You can choose an assortment of toppings and accompaniments so I decided to be adventurous with a pesto sauce, meat sausages, goat's cheese and pine nuts. It was a hearty meal and the pasta was cooked to perfection.
My husband ordered the grilled chicken on a bed of gnocchi. We weren't too impressed with the chicken as it was a bit overcooked for my liking. The gnocchi however was to die for! It was soft and creamy and drowned in a sea of delicious sauce. Such an irony to find two contrasting experiences on one plate. 😏
My daughter got a baby chair to sit in and husband kept himself company with a newspaper. All's well that ends well. I'm eying the French toast next time!
