It was a balmy Thursday night in the Holy Month of Ramadan when the Best Bites team ... unashamedly ran into Tamba, excited for the iftar experience. And oh la! such an experience! This is a perfect iftar for people who’ve been fasting: the build up of food from the colorful chips and pineapple soup to the heavier main dishes is well planned and executed. We very much enjoyed the array of dishes that arrived at the table, the favorite probably being new-to-the-menu pulled beef with babaghanoush haystack pastries. These were delicately flavoured and very moreish. We missed our favourite Delhi Mix but relished the addition of typically classy samosas, topped with a mix of sweet and spicy glazes. The meal finished on a quiet note with Mumtaz - a jazzy halwa roll filled with strawberry yogurt parfait. The great thing about this iftar is that you feel replete at the end, without feeling stuffed, making it a fantastic place to go if you’ve overindulged at a string of buffets or just prefer table service. As ever, Tamba’s crowning glory is its staff which is second-to-none. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty, which is why we’ll return over and over again. #invited
