Le Royal Meridien.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to make some noise! Maybe it’s the spectacular views, or maybe it’s the exquisite food, but Stratos is perhaps the most superb dining experience we’ve had in some time. There’s a whole new team at Le Royal Meridien and they’ve really raised the bar - or should I say, the level 😉. Round One saw us in awe of the beautiful plating of the pleasantly charred octopus and the most delectable seared tuna topped with a crispy little olive cracker. And if you’re a foie gras kinda gal (or fella 😉) this will definitely melt your butter - ‘twas beyond delicious. Welcome to dinner loved ones! Each dish had the hallmarks of a confident chef: loads of elements, all working together in harmony to create sensational flavours. The Wagyu was meltingly soft and well seasoned, the dukka crushed lamb racks were insane and possibly the best we’ve had, and the eggplant, complemented by a miso glaze and salsa rosso, packed full of life and taste. Our favourite dessert was the lemon posset with crumbled amaretti and prosecco jelly. The three of us lingered over that, savouring the textures and flavours. The crème brûlée was also excellent. In short, Stratos is back! It absolutely deserves a place amongst Abu Dhabi’s best dining spots. The only thing outrageous here are the views which are to die for, and we thought it represented great value for money. Welcome back to the fold Stratos: we’ve missed you! #invited
