Had a lovely Sunday lunch date at The Punjab Grill, Venetian village. Special offer 3 courses for 95dh including all the taxes!!!! But no drinks. We had water and our total bill was 214!
The food was very good. Started with a watermelon slider to kick start our appetites! Husband and I shared the lentil soup and the veg samosa chaat for starters. I thought the chat was lovely but found the lentil soup a bit bland for my fiery Indian taste! Needed a dash more spice, salt and lemon! In my opinion!! Between starters and mains we were presented with a refreshing palate cleansing raspberry sorbet. For mains we had: The trio of chicken tikka - beautifully cooked tender pieces of chicken, red green and white! The Punjabi lamb - again tender meat in a spiced tomato based sauce (again could have been a bit hotter for me but that's personal preference) With this we were given traditional Punjabi yellow Dahl, a small salad, loads of jeera rice, one garlic naan and one paratha. Dessert was Rasmalai which for me was OK. I'm a bit fussy with Rasmalai and for me it wasn't quite right as it looked like and had the texture of emulsion! Luckily not the taste! Off course all this food could not be finished!! So leftovers were kindly packed and fed daughter for dinner!! She loved it! Chef also popped out to say hello and get our feedback! We will definitely return to try other dishes.
