I decided to bring our Irish visitors here as I love Koshari myself, though I had never visited this restaurant. I also wanted them to see a bit of ‘real’ Abu Dhabi which is why I went to this branch instead of the newer one.
The attention we got was unreal. The staff couldn’t do enough to make our meal more enjoyable. From walking in and all the tables being pushed together to accommodate us, to the care taken with the tea order afterwards. Such simply lovely hospitality...
We ordered only plain things (some kiddie picky eaters in the mix) - Koshari original, plain rice with vermicelli, veggie feteera and some fries. Followed by Nutella feteera (I think that’s what it was) which disappeared in a flash.
The chef came to spend time with us and gifted us basboosa and kunafa, as well as the Nutella feteera we ordered. The wait staff just made the whole thing so pleasant and it was lovely for the kids to see everything being made.
I will be back here very very soon! That tomato sauce for the Koshari itself - I could drink it.
