Crowne Plaza Yas.
Stayed overnight at Crowne Plaza Yas Island and Friday lunch was at Jing Asia; the hotel's oriental and Asian themed restaurant. Wasn't that hungry, so opted for the Business lunch buffet, instead of the full buffet. Full buffet was 149. Business was 99/person. You had a choice of either main course and appetisers or main course and dessert. Along with unlimited water and soft drinks. It was really good.
As a Chef whose worked for a number of hotels in Dubai before, my observation and insight into food (especially hotel food) is always different. This restaurant pleased my taste buds and everything else. The variety was good. The mixed grill live cooking station had good variety of beef, lamb, chicken and prawns. Opted to try everything but prawns. The chicken and lamb was very very very tender and beautifully cooked. It was just perfect. Fully cooked, yet not over done. Seasoned well. The main course buffet selection had a good variety. Loved the Udon noodles and the Hong Kong style roasted chicken etc.
BEST was the desserts selection. If you go here, you must try the vanilla ice cream and the matcha green tea macaroon. The macaroon blew me over. Felt like I was in Japan and eating something authentic. Everything was outstanding. The bill was 198 AED taxes included for two persons and I thought it was fairly reasonable. I came out very happy.
