I received an email this morning from Freedom Pizza, announcing that they are now offering cauliflower crust pizzas. I’m currently eating a Keto Diet, so I was excited to give it a try and decided to order some for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a fan of the taste of cauliflower and I really couldn’t taste it in this crust. There was basically no noticeable taste other than the toppings, which was a good thing for me. The only thing that was a little different from “normal” was the texture, which definitely seemed more akin to a thin bread than cauliflower, so still a good thing if you’re looking lower your carbs and want to feel like you’re having regular pizza. It even pretty much looks like a regular thin crust. All in all, I’m happy with it and definitely happy to not have to make my own crust every time I want pizza! 😋
A Few Important Notes: Someone has been kind enough to include the ingredients list for the Freedom Pizza cauliflower crust among the first few comments and it seems their version of cauliflower crust is more low carb than “Keto.” If you’re following a strict no-grain Keto diet, be aware that it looks like they use some varieties of flour and starches along with the cauliflower. Also, they don’t yet have the nutritional info. up on their website or app for the cauliflower crust, so hopefully those are updated soon to see the carb count. The app is also entirely devoid of the cauliflower crust option so far, so go for a phone or online order (aka their actual website on a browser).
