We were craving Turkish cuisine, but didn't want to drive to the city. So we decided to give to try Dolmabahce. The restaurant has a pleasant Ottoman ambiance. Though a casual dining restaurant, the settings, the service, and the attention to details in the presentation of dishes gives Dolmabahce (a dash of) a fine dining flair.
All dishes were ordered were made with fresh ingredients and were well cooked. The meat was deliciously tender. Overall the food tasted good to very good (some dishes like their traditional lamb stew was slightly lacking flavor). Yet the kofta with pistachio was outstanding (with the perfect mix of spices, and so juicy), and the Ayran (yogurt based drink) was one of the best I have ever had (not salty is the way I like it).
Their menu offers several options of traditional Turkish breakfast items too that look very enticing. We will be back to try more of their dishes.
This is a good restaurant for a weekend family meal.
