If Alice had fallen down the rabbit hole and miraculously ended up in a restaurant in Abu Dhabi, I'm pretty sure this is where she would've landed, right in amongst the Turkish delight table and the chocolate counter! The place is big and white and beautiful but with so many little corners and walls lined with the most glorious Murano glass (on sale 😍) The sheer range of food available is magical. I'm normally very suspicious of anywhere that covers so many different cuisines, but Delecto has done well - better than well.
Once again, for the sake of review, I gorged myself on a whopping amount of food 😉 We started with drinks, including a popcorn freak shake which came looking superb. More importantly it was, hands down, the most beautiful tasting shake, totally capturing the popcorn taste - you have to try! And the home-made bread and dips ... wowzers!
The savoury food was equally outstanding: the pizza's base was crispy, the topping not too overpowering, my California roll was absolutely perfect and the calamari was - oooooh controversially - the best I've had in AD.
And speaking of the best, I finished with blueberry cheesecake. This is the best cheesecake in Abu Dhabi and I'm pretty sure I've tasted them all. I was totally full after all the other stuff but I couldn't help myself.
This is a 'perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner' kinda place. I need to go back to try the Arabic food - actually if someone else would go and review it, that would be 👌🏼👌🏼 - but there are loads of things I still want to try. The menu is almost retro in style but everything is done with a modern twist. And, yes, they've done it well. Thanks Delecto for inviting me!
