Come for the food-stay for the fun!A pork menu, good Filipino/Chinese food, cheap drinks and some GREAT live entertainment-those people in the know have kept this a well-hidden secret from the rest of us for long enough!Let’s start with the food, but bear with me until the end-the entertainment is what makes this place unique and worthy of some attention!
They have two separate menus-a pork one and a regular menu. The pork menu has lots of variety of Chinese and Filipino dishes to cater for all tastes including spareribs, chop suey, pork with Peking sauce, as well as things like intestine and liver for the more adventurous (we weren’t brave enough!) All was well flavoured and tasty. The regular menu has a wide variety of dishes that will again cater to all tastes. Favourites like wontons, spring rolls, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken are all there. The deep fried shredded beef is a must try! They also have some of the more exotic Chinese dishes such as chicken feet. The stand out winner for us however was the Peking duck-super crispy, but not dry. So delicious. Prices are very affordable, and drinks are even better-27 AED for a pint of beer before the 40% discount!
Now-on to the entertainment. They have two different acts who alternate sets throughout the evening. Lollipop (because he’s sweet apparently😀) will warm you up and get you humming along. A great singer busting out a few power ballads in between moving around the tables getting to know everyone and have a chat. He may even get you on stage for a duet so brush up on those Whitney numbers beforehand! Karaoke is fully encouraged, and the night we were there we were blown away by the amazing level of the mostly Filipinos joining in!Aroma Duo is the second act-WOW-what voices! The overall level of entertainment was something we were not expecting-we thought we would be in an out for a quick dinner. Four and a half hours later and we were still sitting there enjoying the entertainment! Cheap, and most certainly cheerful!
