IFTAR AND SALARY SAVER!!!

First things first: How have I NEVER eaten ate this place before?? Apparently a huge oversight! We headed out to Al Bahya this evening to taste the delights at Cafe Mandarina, kids and nanny in tow... we were warmly greeted by the staff who were incredibly politely. The café offers a set iftar menu with huge portions and quite frankly, enough food to feed a small army! A choice of ramadan drinks is available followed by your choice of soup, lentil or freekah. We tried both, neither one disappointed. This was followed by a tableful of warm and cold mezze with a neverending bread basket. The main course selections were huge. We had several options to choose from and all sounding equally delicious! There is a vegetarian option available and vegetarians definitely will not feel slighted in the least. The meal ended with our choice of desserts however we all wanted abu ali, which also was above par albeit a little bit sweet. In addition to the set menu, we ordered two items from the kids menu: corn dog and margherita pizza. Again huge portions, unfortunately the pizza was left untouched as my youngest was overly excited about the horses and play area outside! Our nanny opted for a grilled veggie wrap which she enjoyed with a side of fries. All items off the regular and kids menu benefit from 20% BB discount. Set menu is 150 aed / couple or 85 aed per person. A definite must try. Great setting, wonderful outdoor play area for kids. We will certainly be repeat customers.
NB: service was a tad slow this evening but certainly it wasn’t anything to complain about. I would just arrive early and get my order in before maghrib.
