Hyatt Capital Gate.
We had the opportunity to experience brunch at Hyatt Capital Gate today. First, I'll start with the view...amazing. You can see nearly every iconic building in Abu Dhabi from the restuarant. It also is pretty cool dining in the most leaning manmade building in the world according to Guinness World Records. Now, for the food and drinks. For the first half hour there was a "cocktail hour" where you can relax in the lounge and enjoy a beverage. Upon entering the actual brunch I noticed a small buffet of salads, desserts and seafood. When we arrived at our table I was pleasantly surprised to see a made to order menu with a variety of meats and fish including duck, scallops, prawns, crab cakes and salmon. The menu even included breakfast!!! We pretty much ordered everything on the menu. Our favorites were the scallops which were cooked perfectly and the duck leg which had a nice crisp on the outside but juicy and tender on the inside. The buffet had a variety of salads, foie gras and cold cuts. We didn't try the foie gras..but everything else was fresh and tasty. One of the highlights was the oyster station which was brought to your table with just about every condiment to accompany the fresh, thick oysters. We ordered drinks from our waitor as the small bar only had about four drink specials. I ordered a vodka martini from the waiter which took some time apparently because the small bar only had ingredients for a few different drinks.I appreciated the effort into finding the ingredients to make the martini which was strong...just the way I like it!! Desserts ranged from cheesecake to chocolate pudding and made to order milkshakes. Overall I would say Hyatt Capital Gate was a beautifully relaxed brunch with an iconic view and fresh food.
