Bord Eau used to be our "go to" celebration restaurant but 3 years ago they changed the chef/menu and we were really disappointed and haven't been back since. In truth we missed it but didn't want to be disappointed again. We thought we would be brave and went last night to their "From Paris with love" night (every 14th of the month) and were back in love with it again. Fantastic food. 3 courses (2 choices each of starters and main, set desert) as well as an arrival glass of Champagne (Tattinger) a bottle of red or white (Italian. Red was v nice, not outstanding but definitely not bad) and a HUGE and delicious Amuse Bouche (forgot to take photo but it was sea bass carpaccio, beetroot something! and faux grass on a toasted foccia), all for 550aed per couple all in! We decided to try it all. You can see from the pictures it was all beautifully presented, it tasted fab and we thought it was fantastic value. The service was also excellent, without being too full on. They do a wine pairing evening, 4 courses with paired wine on a regular basis and are just introducing their new menu. I'll admit, it wasn't full of "pretty young things". Mostly slightly older couples like us, that appreciate a gentle sophistication and good food in beautiful surroundings. We will be back for definite.
