We’re always fairly sceptical when ordering steak from a new spot. We don’t eat steak that often so when we do treat ourselves we tend to stick to familiar spots. This night, however, we wanted to stick close to home and stay casual. We popped over to Deerfield’s Mall, searched through the Entertainer and decided to give Bill’s Kitchen a try, not really wanting to sit in a chain restaurant and have a burger and fries. I instantly liked the aesthetics of the restaurant. The menu didn’t excite me much but there were 2 things that tickled my fancy and that was good enough for us to stay. We started with hummus and bread. The portion was huge and could have easily been shared by 4 people. The bread is made as you order your hummus so steamed when we tore into it. Hubby and I both ordered the Sirloin steak, medium. The steak came cooked to perfection and took both of us by surprise at how tasty and tender it was. I really didn’t expect such a well cooked steak! The steak was accompanied by a small corn on the cob, fresh grilled mushrooms and a small potato. I was slightly disappointed at the size of these sides but it turned out to be just right and I didn’t finish it all anyway. We were also very pleased that we were given 3 little pots of sauce for the steak; mushroom, peppercorn and bbq. With the use of an entertainer voucher a it came to 203dhs (including the standard overpriced local water). I will definitely be going back! The only ☹️ remark I will make is about the service. The staff were friendly but I’ve had better service. We received our food and didn’t see anyone again until our plates were taken away. I’m use to the manager or, at least the waiter, to come check if all is ok. This didn’t happen. I can definitely not label this as bad service though! We were greeted and promptly taken into the restaurant where the manager took us through the food display.
