Last week we had a small goodbye gathering for a friend leaving UAE. We had a Syrian style breakfast FEAST! We were a group of 5, two of the group have never had syrian food before.
We had 1-scrambled eggs with syrian sausage. The spices in the sausage mix was just right! 2- Two chicken fatte! Even though one was enough but the flavours of the yogurt mixed with crunchy bread along with shredded chicken was too hard to pass seconds. ( if you haven’t tried this dish then I highly recommend it from Liwan! The first timers fell in love). 3- I have tried falafel in many places and different countries before and I can safely say that these were the best falafels I have ever had! We had two servings of falafel (18 pieces total) 4-we had one plate of foul with yogurt, it wasnt the best I had but we didnt regret trying it. 5- we had 8 pieces of “bird’s nest” pastry. This pastry is by far my favourite of all that I just listed. The perfect meat and pomegranate molasses ratio. It has the flavour I look for in pastry and the crunch texture 😍
They serve fresh hot bread and veggies on the side. We ended the feast with a sweet red tea. A good way to end a good meal.
The place had a very traditional and simple decor. I enjoyed the service, everything needed to be served hot was hot and didn’t take too long.
